About Me

The following is me in a nutshell, in roughly chronological order. All the facts, nothing else.

  • I was born in Springfield, IL, but shortly thereafter moved to Petersburg, a farm town (~2,400 people) about a half-hour northwest of Springfield.
  • I attended Immanuel Lutheran grade school from K-8; a school that had about 100 kids and is very similar to our own Nettle Creek (small gym and all).
  • I went to PORTA High School in Petersburg; where I ran cross country and track; participated in student government; and various other extra-curriculars.
  • I then went to Illinois College (varsity soccer and student government) and UIS, majoring in computer science.
  • I joined the Navy, in the nuclear pipeline, and served as a submarine electrician, operating the electric plant and fixing/performing maintenance on nearly all electrical equipment on the sub for a total of 6 years.
  • I left the Navy and started working at LaSalle County Generating Station nuclear power plant as an equipment operator and progressed through jobs in operations and training, earning a Senior Reactor Operator license along the way.
  • I finished an MBA started in the Navy in between patrols while working at LaSalle.
  • I met my wife Sandi, an elementary school teacher; moved to Morris in 2013; and now have 2 boys, Kyle (8) and Conor (5).
  • I left LaSalle and am currently a Critical Operations Director with a data center infrastructure company.
  • I’ve previously served on the HOA board for Nettle Creek Country Club Estates and am currently volunteer coaching (4th season coming up) for the Morris Soccer Association.
